Hell Is For Heroes

Supporting Feeder at the Colston Hall were Hell Is For Heroes, and I wouldn't normally do this, but these guys just took the roof off the place, so I thought I would give them their own page here. I'm going to do my best to see them again soon, money permitting.
From the minute they opened with Five Kids Go, the crowd were pumping and a refreshing yet heavy set of hard-rock tunes pounded out.
Justin Schlossberg was on vocals and admitted to having a stinking cold - you could hear it in his voice when he spoke to us, but not while he sang - and he still leapt around the stage like a man possessed! His energy never dwindled and I've got a lot of time for him, for that. He ran up to the bass drum at one point and launched himself off it across the stage, I've never seen anything like it. He was knocking things over and getting the mic wire caught up everywhere, it was mad and very cool!
My highlight of the set was their current MTV video favourite 'You Drove Me To It' which is catchy and instantly recognisable on TV, but so much more than that live, a lot heavier - it sent us into a spin.
The most visibly dominant character on stage for me was bassist Fin (James Findlay) though, as pictured above. He was thick set, and looked kinda mean and powerful, with bass-lines to match! I got their set-list from him afterwards, too - thanks ever so!
I'll try to post more as and when I find out but in the meantime, if you'd like to find out more for yourself, visit their website at: http://www.hell-is-for-heroes.net/
